Maybanke Accommodation and Crisis Accommodation Support Service (MACSS) staffing, funded by the Queensland Government is a full-time Manager email, two Support Workers, a Child Support Worker and a part-time administration officer/bookkeeper email.

Our Manager works with the management committee (MANCOM) to coordinate and manage the delivery of MACSS services which respond to women and children who are homeless because of domestic violence. Key responsibility areas are client service delivery, financial management, human resource management, program management and building a public profile and relationships.

Our Support Workers work with the Manager, MACSS to ensure the most appropriate and effective services are provided to women and children who are homeless because of domestic violence. Key Responsibility areas are providing a client focussed delivery of service, case management, working in a supportive team environment, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures and property maintenance. The senior support worker acts as Manager, MACSS as needed.

Our Child Support Worker works within the service framework of MACSS to promote the physical, emotional and cognitive development of children and young people by:

  • assisting children and young people with their daily needs and routines;
  • helping children and young people to form positive beliefs about themselves;
  • modelling and teaching children and young people how to build, positive, trusting and respectful relationships; and
  • working with a focus on reflective practice and continuous improvement.

The Administration Officer/Bookkeeper works with the Manager, MACSS to develop and maintain a range of book-keeping/administrative systems. Responsibilities include working with Manager to monitor expenditure of funds, payment of staff wages, superannuation, salary sacrifice and tax, updating the Asset Register, working with the Manager, MACSS and Treasurer, MANCOM to prepare the Annual Budget for approval by the MANCOM and regular liaison with the Auditor. Administrative duties include responding to phone calls and redirecting the enquiry as appropriate, filing of relevant documents and information, maintaining the Key Register and other Registers as required by the Policies and Procedures Manual and ensuring adequate supplies of stationery and adequate food for client packs and the office/kitchen. Other administrative duties include preparation and submission of quarterly reports to the department as required by the Service Agreement and attendance and participation in staff team meetings.
